Real Hope for your CampusFor over 75 years, InterVarsity has had a vital presence on hundreds of college campuses across the US, courageously proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Savior, engaging in discipleship around Scripture, and loving people of every ethnicity and culture.
Our StoryInterVarsity has a rich history of ministry in Arkansas dating all the way back to the 1970s, when a small group of students at the University of Arkansas felt convicted to start a witnessing community to reach out to their peers. Students, faculty, and InterVarsity ministers continued the ministry for decades until the late 2000s, when the ministry subsided for a time.
In 2015, Christina and Jacob Foor felt a calling from the Lord to replant ministry in the state, with a special vision for forming "multiethnic" movements of students that reach every corner of their campus. A small group of African American students formed the core of the new ministry at the U of A, which quickly grew to 50-100 people over the next few years. InterVarsity is now on three campuses--the U of A, UA Fort Smith, and Northwest Arkansas Community College--and is currently planting on three more (Ouachita Baptist, Henderson State, and Arkansas Tech). It is an exciting time! We're praying for a movement of students on all of Arkansas' 38 campuses to hear the Lord's calling, get discipled and equipped for ministry, and begin witnessing communities of their own on their campus! Read more below to get a feel of what we're all about and join the movement! |

Our ValuesScripture

Diversity
We desire to be a community of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds reflecting the fullness of God's Kingdom and campus population. Our ministry will teach you to more fully value and understand your ethnic identity as well as how to reach out to and make space for those from different cultures and backgrounds. (Revelation 7:9)

Discipleship
We cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christlike character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines, empowered by the Spirit. We engage in learning and thoughtful biblical reflection in every area of life. We develop women and men to serve as leaders at every level of InterVarsity and ultimately for the kingdom of God, honoring God’s gifts and calling in them.

Global Engagement and Justice
We encourage a holistic expression of our faith on campus, in our cities, and globally! InterVarsity offers deep discipleship and training to equip you to be a cross-cultural minister and advocate for God's justice both during college and wherever he might send you next. We offer spring break and summer domestic justice programs, global engagement summer programs, and "study abroad as mission" opportunities.

Strategic Focus for ArkansasWe long to see students from all backgrounds leading in every corner of campus. In this season we've noticed a huge need for campus ministries in Arkansas that create multiethnic witnessing communities. In particular, we want to create ministry spaces for Black & African American, Latino, Asian Pacific Islander, and rural students. Much of our energy in the next few years will go toward launching ministry among these student populations.
That said, we are always open to any student who wants to reach any corner of their campus! Check out a full list of InterVarsity resources for various ethnicities and interests on campus. |
Black Campus Ministries
InterVarsity Black Campus Ministries (BCM) is committed to reaching black students and faculty at majority institutions and historically black colleges/universities nationwide, ministering to the unique needs of the community and laboring to develop extraordinary Black Christian leaders and world changers. Through our growing campus ministries, involvement in global and urban missions, through our pursuit of God in our fields of study and research, we hope to see the name of Christ spread and exalted among these young people who will become the next leaders of our communities and beyond.

LaFe Ministries
LaFe is committed to developing Latino leaders who serve the campus community with the love of Jesus Christ as they explore God, faith, and the experiences of our people. Read more here to learn about our core commitments and approaches to ministry. |
Asian Pacific Islander Ministries
We are a ministry for Asian American students dedicated to seeing live's transformed, the campus renewed, and world changers developed. We are pan-ethnic and seek to serve the Asian American community throughout Arkansas. As such, just as Peter preached to the Jews and Paul was sent to the Gentiles, we wish to reach those who identify culturally with Asians and Asian Americans and to provide a caring environment and community to pursue God and live life together.
|
Rural Ministries
Rural communities make of the heart of Arkansas. As a college ministry, we hope to see students transformed by the gospel, but we also hope to equip students to return to their communities as salt and light in the decades that follow. We believe that Jesus wants to uniquely disciple and empower students from rural communities, speaking into their unique backgrounds, needs, and gifts.

What We BelieveOur Vision
IS TO SEE:
Students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, & world changers developed. Our Purpose
IN RESPONSE TO GOD’S LOVE, GRACE, AND TRUTH:The Purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture and God’s purposes in the world.
Statement of Faith
We believe in...
The only true God, the almighty Creator of all things, existing eternally in three persons Father; Son; and Holy Spirit; full of love and glory. The unique divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness, and authority of the Bible. The value and dignity of all people: created in God’s image to live in love and holiness, but alienated from God and each other because of our sin and guilt, and justly subject to God’s wrath. Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine, who lived as a perfect example, who assumed the judgment due sinners by dying in our place, and who was bodily raised from the dead and ascended as Savior and Lord. Justification by God’s grace to all who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. The indwelling presence and transforming power of the Holy Spirit, who gives to all believers a new life and a new calling to obedient service. The unity of all believers in Jesus Christ, manifest in worshiping and witnessing churches making disciples throughout the world. The victorious reign and future personal return of Jesus Christ, who will judge all people with justice and mercy, giving over the unrepentant to eternal condemnation but receiving the redeemed into eternal life. To God be glory forever. ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OCTOBER 20, 2000 |
